Houei Say / Chiang Khong
Buses depart every 20-30 minutes from Chiang Rai to Chiang Khong (Thai-Lao border) between 6.00am and 5.00pm and take between 2-3 hours. 
Buses depart 2-3 times daily from Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong and take between 5-7 hours.
Private vehicle transfer with Luangsay Cruises, from Chiang Rai, $75.00 for up to 6 people, pick up at hotel, bus station or airport.  Can be taken on the morning of departure of your cruise (pick up time 6.30am).

Luang Prabang
Direct flights from and to Bangkok with Bangkok Airways and Lao Airlines.
Direct flights from and to Vientiane, Pakse, Siem Reap, Kunming and Chiang Mai with Lao Airlines

Pakse
Direct flights from and to Bangkok with Bangkok Airways.
Direct flights from and to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Siem Reap with Lao Airlines
Bus from Vientiane to Pakse daily, takes around 13 hours
Bus from Ubon Ratchatani to Pakse around 3 hours.  There are buses, trains and flights with Thai Airways and Air Asia from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchatani.
